About Me
I’m a language and learning enthusiast, fascinated by how technology can bring them together. My journey has taken me from classrooms in Ghana, the United States, and Canada to earning a PhD in Spanish Linguistics focused on education and assessment.
My research work sits at the intersection of language education, sociolinguistics, and technology. I explore how social and linguistic identities influence classroom engagement and assessment practices. Building on this foundation, I study translanguaging, social semiotic approaches, and heritage learner experiences to help educators better understand how language, identity, and classroom practices intersect.
I’ve taught Spanish at all levels, designed courses and training materials, and applied research insights to help L2 and heritage learners succeed in both online and in-person environments. My goal is to make learning accessible, inclusive, and motivating, whether I’m designing a Spanish curriculum, creating an AI-enhanced activity, or mentoring students.
Beyond research and design, I’m committed to mentorship and cross-cultural collaboration. I believe education should empower learners, open opportunities, and reflect the diversity of the communities it serves.
